When you click on the "Emergency Options" button on the home screen of your LiveSafe app, you will be taken to a new menu, shown below. From this menu, you will have the option to Call 911 (this button will call the appropriate emergency services number if you are not located in the United States), call your organization's security or campus police, or send your organization's security or campus police a message.
- If you select either "call" option the app will not instantly begin the call. A dialogue box will pop up on you screen where you can confirm you would like to place the call, or you can cancel the call.
- Note - if you choose "Call 911" but do not choose to place the call via the dialogue box, your organization will still be notified you pressed the button and they may reach out to you. This is to ensure that if it is an emergency but you are unable to complete the call, your organization is aware you may need help.
- If you select the message option, a window will appear where you can enter text and attach media, if you choose to do so. After sending the message, you will have the option to open a chat window with security or campus police and begin a two-way conversation.
Please note that, depending on your organization's preferences, some of the buttons shown above may not be present or may be named differently.
