With Android P ("Pie"), Android has severely restricted third-party app (i.e. LiveSafe) access to collect ongoing location services updates. As a result, in order for LiveSafe to accurately deliver messages based on your location, we have implemented what's called a "foreground service". This is the persistent notification in the top status bar. To be clear, this notification only affects Android devices and will not affect your battery life any differently than before the update.
Want to disable the notification? Here's how:
1. Navigate to the "Settings" section of the app by clicking the three-bar menu.
2. Click "Manage LiveSafe Notification" and toggle "Persistent notification OFF".
4. When the confirmation pop-up shows, tap "Turn OFF".
Alternatively, you can tap & hold (or "long press") on the notification and tap "Minimize" to hide the notification.
