When users submit tip, their approximate location is displayed on the map. This location is identified by cutting-edge geolocation technology, but it can still be impacted by reception issues, such as large towers that scatter cellular signal.
If a user submits a tip that is heavily location-dependent, such as a broken window, we recommend thanking the user and asking them to clarify their location. This helps you dispatch assistance to precisely the right area.
The map location displayed in the Tip Card Screen can then be further defined for more accurate reporting. Follow these steps to update the location:
1. Within a Tip Card, click "Report" to bring up this view:
2. Click and hold the tip location “pin” and drag it to the appropriate spot on the map.
OR: Type in the desired address in the “Report Location” field.
3. Click on the blue “Save” button to preserve your change.
Tip: Leave a comment in the “Notes” section explaining that the location was updated for record-keeping purposes.
