Drills help ensure your community is familiar with LiveSafe's functionality.
During a drill, conduct a practice roll-call of your community members using a Check-in message. A Check-in message is a two-way communication that asks users to verify their safety status. It has both a drill mode and an emergency mode to avoid unnecessary confusion.
Check-In Message process:
- An authorized dashboard admin sends out a message to your community, prompting users to respond with their status.
- App users reply to the message with either “I’m ok” or “I need help.” Responses are displayed on a real-time map with location and contact information.
- You can determine who participated in the drill by reviewing who responded.
One week before the drill, we recommend sending out a standard Broadcast Message:
Our quarterly evacuation drill is scheduled for [insert date], between [start time] and [end time]. During that time, we’ll send a LiveSafe Check-in message, as we would in a real situation requiring evacuation.
Then, at the time of the drill, send a Broadcast Check-In Message
*This is a TEST* Evacuate [insert building name] immediately. Check in with “I’m Okay” when at your Assembly Point. Respond with “I Need Help” if assistance from Emergency Personnel is required. Send an Emergency Message via the LiveSafe app with more info about your situation.
You can then review data on the drill through the dashboard, or export for deeper analysis.
This video provides an overview of sending Broadcast Check-in Messages.
