What is LiveSafe Connect?
LiveSafe Connect is the the LiveSafe platform’s group chat feature-set built for officials to have secure Conversations with both internal & external Participants.

How can LiveSafe Connect be Used?
Use case #1:
You’ve received a “Suspicious Person” tip in your Dashboard, which includes a picture, and you want to send it out to your security team to be on the lookout for the person
Use case #2
You want to have an ongoing & evergreen Conversation with your security group regarding current status and smaller incidents
Use case #3:
Your company has send a LiveSafe Broadcast Message to all employees about smoke in the building, and you now want to send that same Broadcast to the security directors of other companies in the neighboring buildings
Use case #4:
You’ve seen pattern of break-ins in the facilities in your area, and you want to start a Conversation to warn & discuss with the security directors in other cities
Use case #5:
A large protest is scheduled in the park next week, and you want to have an open channel Conversation with other security heads in the week leading up to, and then during, the protest
Use case #6:
You’ve see an increase in bike thefts on your campus, and want to discuss in a Conversation with the Chiefs at other schools
How does Connect work?
Connect is a part of the LiveSafe platform, so you’ll access it wherever you access the LiveSafe platform, both in the browser and mobile app.
Once you get Connect turned on for your organization, you’ll log in to the LiveSafe Command Dashboard, and there you’ll see a Connect button on the right navigation bar, and within any tip that’s been submitted to your Dashboard.
You'll create a Connect Conversation by entering an initial message, optionally add media, set a location, and then add any number of Participants just by entering their email address. The Conversation is then created and invites will be sent to all Participants by email.
As the Conversation creator & owner, you can then view & chat in the Conversation in either the LiveSafe web app or the LiveSafe mobile app. Clicking the link in the email will then open the Conversation up in the LiveSafe mobile app. It’s then in the app that the Participants will engage in the group chat, taking full advantage the app’s push notifications.
Once you open your first Conversation, you'll then see a new "Connect" button in the left menu of the mobile app, and tapping that will bring your to all your current Conversations. If for some reason, you don't see the button or your Conversations, you can just re-open the Conversation invite email and re-tap the link there to open the mobile app in the Conversation.
After you've been in your first Conversation in the mobile app, you'll then be able to also create Conversations in the LiveSafe mobile app. However, please note that you'll only be able to create in the mobile app if you were able to see & create Conversations in Connect in the LiveSafe Dashboard.
Can I only use Connect with my colleagues?
You can add ANY email address to invite someone in as a Participant. This includes people you directly work with, colleagues in different departments & cities, industry contacts, neighbors, friends, family…ANYBODY with an email address. Once you invite them, they’ll see the “Connect” button in the left menu of the mobile app, and be able to engage in the group chat of any Conversation they’ve been invited to.
However, in order to create Conversations:
- Your organization must be a LiveSafe Client
- You must have requested to turn the Connect feature on
- You must have admin/login privileges to the LiveSafe Dashboard in the web
I don't have LiveSafe Account -- can I use Connect?
Anybody with an email address can be invited as Participant in a Conversation. They'll be sent an email invite, and when they click the button in it, they'll be taken to the app store to download the LiveSafe app, which will then open in the Conversation, where they can see chats from all other Participants, and adds chats of their own. In addition, all Conversations that the user was invited to via that email address are visible and can be accessed on the Connect "Participants" screen.
At no point in any of the above will the user be required to register or create a LiveSafe account. However, if they back out of Connect, they'll land in the general app registrations screens, where they are free to create a LiveSafe account. During the 'Choose Org' screens, they should just tap the 'Can't find your Organization' link to finalize their registration.

Where can I find all my Conversations?
Connect Conversations are aggregated and can be found in the LiveSafe mobile app. If you have the new Home screen, they will be under the "Connect" card. If you have an older version of the app, they can be found under the "Connect" button in the left menu. If for some reason you don't see either the card or button, you can click in any new or previous email invite and you'll once again see all your Conversations, no matter how old they are.
