What is LiveSafe Connect?
LiveSafe Connect is the the LiveSafe platform’s group chat feature-set built for security officials to have secure Conversations with both internal & external Participants
Where will I find LiveSafe Connect & how will it work?
Connect is a part of the LiveSafe platform, so you’ll access it wherever you access the LiveSafe platform, both in the browser and mobile app.
When we first launch, you’ll log in to the LiveSafe Command Dashboard, and there you’ll see buttons to either a blank new Conversation, or create a Conversation from a tip that’s been submitted to your Dashboard.
After adding the Conversation details, including location & media, and then adding Participants, invites will be sent via an email
Clicking the link in the email will then open the Conversation up in the LiveSafe mobile app. It’s then in the app that you’ll engage in the group chat, taking full advantage the app’s push notifications.
How can LiveSafe Connect be Used?
Use case #1:
You’ve received a “Suspicious Person” tip in your Dashboard, which includes a picture, and you want to send it out to your security team to be on the lookout for the person
Use case #2
You want to have an ongoing & evergreen Conversation with your security group regarding current status and smaller incidents
Use case #3:
Your company has send a LiveSafe Broadcast Message to all employees about smoke in the building, and you now want to send that same Broadcast to the security directors of other companies in the neighboring buildings
Use case #4:
You’ve seen pattern of break-ins in the facilities in your area, and you want to start a Conversation to warn & discuss with the security directors in other cities
Use case #5:
A large protest is scheduled in the park next week, and you want to have an open channel Conversation with other security heads in the week leading up to, and then during, the protest
Use case #6:
You’ve see an increase in bike thefts on your campus, and want to discuss in a Conversation with the Chiefs at other schools
What do I need to do to get set up for the LiveSafe Connect Beta program?
You’ll need to do just two things to get set up to be a Beta:
Have someone create a LiveSafe Command Dashboard Admin account for you, with at least the “Log in to Dashboard” privilege
Download the LiveSafe Mobile App to your phone, and sign in with that Admin account
Once you’ve done the above, we’ll send you an email when your LiveSafe Connect access has been granted, and we’ll also send you an email invite to your first Connect Conversation that will include all Beta programs members as Participants!
Who can I communicate with in LiveSafe Connect during the Beta program? Do they have to work for the same company as me?
You can add ANY email address to invite someone in as a Participant. This includes people you directly work with, colleagues in different departments & cities, industry contacts, neighbors, friends, family…ANYBODY with an email address. Once you invite them, they’ll see the “Connect” button in the left menu of the mobile app, and be able to engage in the group chat of any Conversation they’ve been invited to.
The only current limitation is that only specifically designated people can create a Conversation in the LiveSafe Command Dashboard during the Beta program.
I’d like my colleague to also get LiveSafe Connect access – how can I do this?
Anybody you invite as a Participant in a Conversation will then see the “Connect” button in the left menu of the mobile app, and be able to engage in the group chat of any Conversation they’ve been invited to.
However, only specifically designated people can create a Conversation in the LiveSafe Command Dashboard during this Beta prgram, so let email@example.com if you want to give this privilege to someone you work with.
Why is it called Beta?
We have big plans for LiveSafe Connect, and will be building out lots of features & functions, but want to get it in hands of our Clients as soon as possible, to get them using it, and, most importantly get their feedback & ideas as to what the product should become.
So, the Beta program is a structured way to have a limited set of people using a version of Connect that is somewhat limited. The key is to get some real usage, and then real feedback, to help inform our Connect roadmap.
What happens after the Beta program?
The Beta version of LiveSafe Connect you’ll be using is just the start of all that we have planned. You’ll see the following features rolled out in the coming months:
Conversations & chat in the browser
Create Conversations in the mobile app
Add/edit Participants in active Conversations
Device Contact import
Improved notifications & notification management
However, the whole purpose of the Beta program is to get Clients using it and providing feedback. It’s this feedback that will most-direct the features we build into Connect, in both the short & long terms
