How does it work?
WorkSafe further leverages your organization's investment in LiveSafe, enabling daily health check-ins through the app. Organizations can use a simple self-attest check-in that individuals are feeling well, or can leverage their own survey to quickly determine individual infection risk.
WorkSafe provides verifiable and auditable results, indicating either wellness (I'm feeling well) or infection risk (I'm not well and should stay at home). All responses are date and time stamped for verification. A central record of all responses ensures you can remain compliant with regulatory requirements and reassures your population that their community is safe.
WorkSafe also provides the ability to engage with employees in discreet or anonymous two-way communications if they have concerns about company policies, and also provides access to company guidance and even direct links to CDC guidance and materials.
Is this contact tracing?
No, this is not contact tracing. This is a simple way for employees to self-attest that they are feeling well enough to come into work and are not experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. That said, this is an important first step that can help companies know where to start their contact tracing efforts. WorkSafe, however, does not perform contact tracing.
What privacy provisions are in place for employees?
The WorkSafe Toolkit does not ask for or collect any private health information. Likewise, any health surveys that are deployed are owned and operated by the company or employer, so we do not see or store that information. And all of the surveys we've seen to date are based strictly on the CDC guidance regarding COVID-19 symptoms.
In addition, WorkSafe is built on the existing infrastructure of LiveSafe -- which your organization already trusts with its safety and risk communications. Privacy and security are fundamental components of that infrastructure. For example, the App user is always in control of whether or not their location services are activated on their mobile device. Users can also remain anonymous when chatting or reporting information to their employer.
